Junior/Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer

Technical Service Representative

Position:
This is a multi-facetted position with the primary role being to assist ecobee customers in resolving technical and hardware problems received through
telephone and email inquiries. ecobee customers that are typical in the following categories; End Users of our products, HVAC Technicians, Distribution
Partners, External Sales staff and North American Utilities. This position will report to the Supervisor, Customer Service.

Primary Duties:
• A passion to provide the best possible customer and technical support service through the use of multiple support tools
• Become a “go to” member of the Customer Service Team for complex technical issues
• Superior trouble-shooting skills with the ability to think outside of the box and find creative ways to solve customer problems
• Attention to detail and the documentation of all customer interactions
• Communicate technical solutions in “customer friendly” language
• Faithfully perform the duties of this position and execute the task as directed by the Company

Qualifications:
• HVAC technical experience acquired through education and/or field experience
• Ability to be hands on and deal with customers successfully over the phone and email
• Sound communication and computer skills
• Ability to work a flexible office schedule

Junior/Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer

As a junior/intermediate QA engineer, your primary job requirement will be design, develop and execute test cases for the ecobee product line, which includes the ecobee Smart/EMS Thermostat, ecobee Web service and mobile device software.

Position:
The successful applicant will have demonstrated a solid understanding of QA methodology and a desire to build great products. Candidates must be able to work independently and with little supervision. You will need to be creative in designing new test cases which expose new issues. In addition, the role requires the ability to create automated test software using java script.

Primary Duties:
• Design and execute test cases for the ecobee product line, based on product requirement documents, architecture documents and discussions with development engineers.
• Investigate customer support issues, documenting steps to reproduce and validating software patches that address the issue.
• Create automated test cases using java script

Must have experience:
• Creating test cases
• Working knowledge of java script programming
• Knowledge of java programming an asset
• Windows, Linux an asset
• Working knowledge of SVN (Subversion)
